Well, you’re in good hands here at Manly Yoga. We offer yoga for beginners in Manly that will help you feel at ease with your yoga practice, before joining our general classes.
We would love to welcome you to our nurturing and supportive yoga community. We take particular care with our beginners because we believe the true essence of yoga is not about competition or perfecting postures. Instead we aim to cultivate awareness, mindfulness and inner peace.
Our series of beginners yoga courses will guide you through the main yoga practices one step at a time. The first part in this series is our five-week Beginners Yoga Level 1 Course.
This course systematically covers the foundations of a balanced yoga practice in a non-competitive environment. Our classes are designed to be small enough to provide the personal attention you deserve, with between 8 -15 students.
As you work through the postures (asana) you’ll build strength, flexibility and confidence in your body and your mind.
By the end of the course you will gain the following.
- An understanding of the four aspects of a yoga class: postures (asana); breathing techniques (pranayama); relaxation (yoga nidra); and meditation.
- Increased strength and flexibility through the practice of various asanas, including standing postures, forward bends, backward bends, twists and balances.
- The ability to practice the modified Sun Salutation series.
- The confidence and skills to take your yoga practice to the next level.
