Keep your kids engaged over the holidays with our fun and beneficial Kids Mindfulness Holiday Workshop. Each child will participate in three engaging types of mindful practice and create an awesome craft to take home.In this workshop each child will create Meditation Stones.
Because of the fast pace of our modern world and all its distractions, experts believe kids need to be taught the crucial skills of being self-aware and in the present moment. Research shows that mindfulness supports mental health and wellbeing and helps kids to build positive relationships and make decisions. It also builds resilience, helping children to cope better and self-regulate their emotions, as well as increases attention, empathy and self-confidence. These fun holiday workshops are led by our Kids’ Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher and Creative Therapist, Liz Taverner
Meditation Stones Workshop:
Each child will mindfully decorate four stones to represent a flower, a mountain, water, and space. They’ll learn how they can use these special stones to connect to their breathing and their bodies as well as the world around them, by using Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s simple Pebble Meditation practice from his children’s book “A Handful of Quiet”. As we hold each stone, we take three breaths and embrace the quality of its image from nature. This is a lovely meditation and a simple tool that kids can use to calm, refresh and go inward. The children will bring home their meditation stones in a special pouch.

- Guided Meditation
This workshop is suitable for children ages 4-8 years.
The first summer Mindful Monkeys one day workshop will be held on Wednesday 16th January from 1.30-4pm.
