Manly Yoga are delighted to announce a special havan and kirtan led by Swami Karma Karuna.

Join us on Saturday 3 March for Havan and Kirtan to share in the spirit of the Manly Yoga community.

Don’t miss this opportunity to come together as co-creators on this special evening of Mantra and Nada Yoga with an incredibly inspiring musical teacher to uplift and raise the vibration within us and around us.

You are welcome to attend the whole program; or attend solely for the Havan (5:30 pm – 6:30 pm); or the Kirtan (6.35 pm – 7.30 pm). If you are coming purely for Kirtan, the doors will re-open at 6.35 pm.

About the program:

Havan is a ceremony from the ancient Indian Vedic tradition. An essential part of havan is the chanting of mantras.

Each month on a Saturday evening we chant 108 rounds of a healing mantra known as the maha-mrit-yun-jaya mantra. It is a universal mantra that is chanted for health, healing, transformation, energy, and support in the face of difficulties.

This yoga practice is a dedication to others; it’s a way of giving beyond the material level.

Prior to the Havan, if you wish, you can write down in our book, why and who you are chanting for and these names are read out on the night – for example perhaps you have a friend with a serious illness and you are dedicating your chanting practice to them, wishing them healing and full recovery. Overall, the intention of this beautiful ceremony is to focus on the wellbeing of all.

Kirtan is a joyful uplifting mantra practice. Kirtan is a little different from chanting in that the mantras are sung with melody and rhythm. It is a practice renowned for its ability to channel the emotions, purify the mind and lighten the heart.

Best of all it’s really easy to do and you don’t even need a good singing voice.

Cost: $20 suggested donation (more or less as per your means). Proceeds from the evening will go towards funding yoga classes at Pioneer Club House in Balgowlah.
